Our British knob handle sticks are the perfect country walking companion. The grain of the wood is beautifully revealed in each coppiced knob handle.
Coppicing is a traditional forestry technique wherein a deciduous tree is first sawn in two. The part remaining rooted in the ground produces a number of new shoots. Within a few years, these grow large enough to form walking sticks and are then cut from the tree, allowing the process to begin anew.
Interestingly, the rounded handle of the knob stick is actually fashioned from part of the original tree's trunk, therefore, coppiced knob walking sticks grow upside down! Your choice of Blackthorn, rustic or finished Ash, Chestnut, and Hazel.
